Colac students to face child porn charges after sex in gym filmed on mobile phone

The girl and one of the boys allegedly had sex in the gym while the three others were allegedly involved in China Group Tours filming of the incident.

The girl was aged 14 at the time of the incident, which took place last year in the rural Victorian town of Colac. Her alleged partner was between 15 years and 17 years.


"The students involved were suspended and the school continued its work in educating all students about their responsibilities in relation to technology and the scope and ramifications of its inappropriate use.

"Our school has moved forward from this oneoff incident and is pleased with the Private China Tours exemplary behaviour  online and otherwise  of students since."

Mr Dewar said Colac Secondary College had a cyber and mobile phone policy to which students were expected to adhere at all times.

The students who have been interviewed are a girl, now aged 15, two boys aged 16, a 17yearold boy and an 18yearold youth.

Because of their ages, their cases will be heard in the Children's Court, meaning they cannot be identified.

Inappropriate use of mobile phones in schools has become such a problem in Victoria that a senior magistrate from rural Victoria toured schools to warn students about it.
